Humanity Horizon is a luminous beacon of hope and change, genuinely embodying the passion and dedication of hearts united in the cause of advancing human dignity, environmental stewardship, and peace worldwide. Established in November 2016, and legally recognized as a non-profit organization with a significant presence in Africa, Humanity Horizon has etched its mark as a movement relentless in its pursuit of a world that mirrors the principles of equality, sustainability, and tranquility.
At the foundation of Humanity Horizon lies a profound vision to revitalize hope, tolerance, and justice to ensure that every individual leads a life marked by dignity and prosperity. This vision is driven forward by a mission deeply entrenched in promoting a global ethos of mutual benefit across all interactions. Central to its ethos are core values that cherish people, planet, and peace - a triad that encapsulates the organization’s dedication to extinguishing poverty, healing the Earth, and fostering a global community intertwined with the threads of justice and peace.
The journey of Humanity Horizon began as Success Planet Network Uganda in 2015, in Offude Village, Oluku Sub-county, Arua District, with the primary aim of mentoring and supporting the youth grappling with the harsh realities of poverty, social vices, and educational disparities. It wasn’t just about addressing the immediate needs but laying a foundation for a sustained impact in communities besieged by challenges such as HIV/AIDS, illiteracy, and youth disengagement. The transformation into Humanity Horizon symbolized not merely a change of name but an evolution in vision, approach, and scope, marking the onset of a powerful and inclusive movement to drive positive global change.
Ogwal Bonny Emmanuel, as the chief executive officer and founder, steers Humanity Horizon towards new frontiers of development-oriented initiatives, focusing on community participation, governance, and policy influence. With programs like Health and Humanities, Hunger and Food Security, Poverty Graduation Program, and Social Policy and Evaluation Program, Humanity Horizon is extending its impact from local communities to national policy arenas, embodying a commitment to uplift humanity.
Humanity Horizon’s objectives are explicitly designed to combat contemporary challenges such as unemployment, poverty, limited access to education and vocational training, mental health issues, land and capital constraints, and the adverse effects of climate change. Through innovative strategies like the Poverty Graduation Program, community-designed projects, and the emphasis on participative approaches, Humanity Horizon is not just about providing aid but empowering communities to design, implement, and sustain transformative projects.
Targeting a diverse range of individuals and communities, including children, youth, vulnerable communities, women, and girls, Humanity Horizon works tirelessly to elevate lives, build self-reliance, and foster resilience across Africa. This dedication extends through its various programs tackling critical issues such as water and sanitation, adolescent and sexual reproductive health rights, nutrition, maternal and infant care, advocacy for feeding programs, pre and post-harvest management, disaster risk reduction, mentorship, networking, financial literacy, democracy monitoring, peacebuilding, gender equality, human rights, and GBV.
In essence, Humanity Horizon embodies a journey of transformation, hope, and empowerment, inviting
global partners to join in reimagining a horizon where prosperity, dignity, and justice are accessible to all.
Through a collective commitment to its vision and objectives, Humanity Horizon continues to light the path
towards sustainable development, marking an indelible impact in the hearts and lives of those it serves.
Thus, Humanity Horizon stands not just as an organization but as a legacy of positive change, fostering a
world where every action contributes to a transformative horizon of humanity.
