Impact Timeline

When Humanity Horizons was incorporated in August 2024, we didn’t have a donor list. We didn’t have a grant pipeline. We didn’t even have a bank account with incoming funds. What we had was a vision — and a fire in our hearts. A belief that Uganda’s youth, refugees, and host communities could lead climate resilience from the ground up. That education could be reformed not through policy papers alone, but through classrooms, gardens, and voices. That even without a single penny of donation, transformation could begin.

This timeline doesn’t just show what we did. It shows what belief can build.

August 2024 Humanity Horizons is officially incorporated. Our founding team — educators, climate activists, refugee leaders, and youth facilitators — gather in Arua to map out the Theory of Change. We commit to launching two flagship programs: ERPDP and Roots of Resilience. We agree on one radical principle: we will not wait for funding. We will build the future anyway.

September–October 2024 We begin delivering commercial trainings to corporate partners in agriculture, sustainability, and education. These trainings generate revenue — not for salaries, but for seed banks, curriculum kits, and youth facilitation. Every shilling earned is reinvested into impact. We call it “impact before income.”

November 2024 We finalize ERPDP curriculum modules: Climate Science, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Value Creation. Youth editorial teams help shape the content. Teachers review it. Students test it. It’s interdisciplinary, project-based, and culturally rooted. It’s ready.

January 2025 ERPDP launches in three secondary schools in Arua. We train 12 teachers and 6 administrators. We activate 200 Green Intellectuals and 2,500 Climate Ambassadors. Students build gardens, lead clean-up campaigns, and create solar prototypes. Schools become hubs of innovation, resilience, and leadership.

February–March 2025 Roots of Resilience begins in Nebbi and Zombo. We train 200 farmers in agroecology, composting, and water harvesting. Three seed banks are built. Five water systems are installed. One cooperative double its yields and reinvests profits into youth mentorship. Mama Florence’s Garden becomes a model for regenerative farming — and a source of income and pride.

April 2025 We expand Roots of Resilience to refugee settlements: Baratuku (Adjumani), Imvepi (Terego), Rhino Camp (Madi Okollo), and Arua City. Over 500 refugees and host community members receive market-relevant climate resilience training. Youth launch composting businesses. Women’s cooperatives begin producing organic vegetables. Rooftop gardens sprout in urban schools.

May–June 2025 The Climate Literacy Hub goes live. We produce 12 youth-led podcast episodes, launch two radio campaigns, and host five summits. Our media reaches over 5,000 listeners. Diaspora networks respond with mentorship offers. Youth voices shape public discourse. Storytelling becomes a tool for movement-building.

July 2025 We host our first district exhibition in Arua. Students present ERPDP projects. Farmers showcase compost systems. Refugee youth pitch green business ideas. Local government officials attend. Corporate partners return — not just for training, but for co-leadership.

August 2025 We celebrate one year since incorporation. No donations received. No grants secured. But over 3,000 lives touched. Every milestone sustained through earned revenue. Every story documented. Every metric verified. We launch our Verified Impact Dashboard — not to attract donors, but to honor those who gave before giving was formalized.

September 2025 We begin preparing for scale. ERPDP is ready to expand to 47 additional schools in 2026. Roots of Resilience is ready to reach 10 districts. The Climate Literacy Hub is ready to launch five new regional branches. We begin inviting donors — not to fund a dream, but to scale a reality.

This timeline is more than a calendar. It’s a testimony. It shows that when communities lead, systems change. That when youth are trusted, they rise. That when impact is rooted in relevance, every harvest becomes a pathway to dignity.

And now, we invite you to step into this timeline. To fund the next seed bank. To sponsor the next school. To co-lead the next summit. Because the future is already unfolding — and your name belongs in its story.
